1. Name, kith, and kin
Adventurers have a kith and a kin. An adventurer’s kith is their “race”—whether they are human or fay or underfolk or otherwise. In game terms, kith is the broad cultural context that separates them from the rest of the world.
Kin defines an adventurer’s clan, realm, or kingdom, and differentiates that adventurer from others of their kith. Two adventurers with the same kin are from the same sub-group—or maybe even related by blood.
Chapter 4 details the various kith and kin that you can choose from during the Call to Adventure, and provides some sample names.
You automatically begin with a mastered talent determined by your kin.
Your kith determines your arête triggers. When all three triggers are checked, you automatically learn your kin’s arête talent.
