When casting this spell, the sorcerer holds the component out as a ward and names one creature. Any creature(s) so named in the sorcerer’s sight are Rooted.

• If the name is specific (“John Doe”) the spell affects everyone by this specific name.

• If the name is generic (“human”) the spell affects every creature of that type.

• Per the GM’s judgment, castings that are vague or confusing might create maleficence.

• This continues until the sorcerer’s concentration is interrupted. Affected creatures cannot use Recover to clear this Effect. The spell must be countered or interrupted.

This spell is maintained with concentration.
