Place of origin and name

Stonetop is home (or close enough) to every PC, but you can decide where your character or your character's family came from originally. If you're not sure what to pick, pick Stonetop.

Each playbook presents a different set of possible origins. For your first PC, pick one of the origins listed—they're the most obvious and appropriate for that playbook. If you're already familiar with the world of Stonetop and have a clear idea, it's fine to pick a different origin.

Each origin provides a list of names to pick from. You don't have to pick one of the suggested names, but the lists are meant to give the world a cohesive feel. If you want something different, the steading playbook includes additional names from each locale. Or you can search online for similar names.
