Steading improvements
The steading playbook includes a number of potential improvements that you can pursue. There are also spots for new improvements, which the GM might reveal to you in play.
Each steading improvement has a list of requirements, which you can complete in whatever order makes sense. You don't have to go in order unless an improvement Once you meet all the requirements for an improvement, the steading gains the listed benefit(s). Some improvements increase steading stats (like Fortunes, Prosperity, or Defenses). Some provide new moves. Some do both.
Some improvements incur ongoing costs. For example, the Weapons of War improvement requires 1 Surplus every spring to maintain. If you fail to pay that cost, you lose the improvement. Make a Plan with the GM if you want to get it back.
The GM can threaten or harm steading improvements the same way they can threaten anything else you care about. If you don't do something to save it, it will be lost and you'll lose its benefits. Again, Make a Plan if you want to get it back.
