Residents & neighbors
The last two pages of the steading playbook are for tracking NPCs. Whenever you or a player introduces a new NPC, make note of them here: their name, pronouns, profession, and any notable traits and relationships. See Creating NPCs for guidance on creating NPCs.
A game of Stonetop can easily involve dozens of NPCs, and space on the steading playbook is limited. As such, you might opt to use a digital tool for tracking NPCs, such as:
- A relationship map that visually organizes PCs, NPCs, and how they're connected to each other
- A spreadsheet, with a row for each PC or NPC, and columns for traits and relationships
- A wiki or database, with entries for each PC and NPC and links between them to record relationships
Even if you use the steading playbook to track all the established NPCs, you'll probably need to keep your own notes elsewhere for each NPC—especially if that NPC is a threat.
