Starting a session

Folks arrive at a session carrying their week with them—work, kids, traffic, etc. Give everyone a chance to settle. Chat and catch up. Let the noise of the world fade a bit before you start to play.

Have a checklist of things to do at the start of each session. Once everyone is settled, start to work through that list. This serves as a ritual. You're drawing a magic circle and stepping back into the fictional world you've made together. Each group's checklist will be different, but common items include:
