▸ Hint at more than meets the eye

Think about something you want to reveal to the PCs, but that wouldn't be obvious. Then think about what telltale signs could point to it. Describe that. See what the PCs do. They'll often ask questions, Know Things, or Seek Insight—or all three!

This move is a great way to telegraph a discovery—especially a clue or an opportunity—and to engage in environmental storytelling.

"While Vahid and Caradoc bicker about the rubble, Rhianna, you notice these smooth, curving patterns in the dirt. What do you do?"

"Vahid, now that you're closer, you can see that both have the same sigil carved into their, well, 'foreheads,' I guess? Stone Lord markings, for sure, and… they look kind of familiar?"

"Okay, so Blodwen, you're patching up Caradoc. I presume you've got the lantern on the cave floor next to you? Well, as you finish, you notice the flame like, pulling, towards the back of the cave. Like there's a draft, maybe? What do you do?"
