▸ Introduce someone interesting

Put someone new in front of the PCs. It could be a stranger from out of town, someone out of a PC's past, or just a local we've not yet met in play.

You might just draw attention to the new person and see if the players interact with them. Or you might introduce them such that it'd be weird or rude for the PC(s) to ignore them. You can also use this move to interrupt or end the current scene.

Remember to add the new character to the steading playbook, or wherever you track NPCs.

"Half an hour later, Cerys comes down to the Stream. She's, like, in her early 30s, dark hair, bags under her eyes. Her dress is tied up and there's mud on the knees. Like she was gardening? Her eyes dart about, worried, looking for Garet you think. Rhianna, what do you do?"

"Before you even finish, there's a bit of a commotion. A small group of strangers is coming down the path from the West Road. Four of them, with a couple wheelbarrows piled with stuff. They've got the look of Delvers… and, gods above, that must be all of their worldly possessions there. Fion's already heading that way, what do you do?"
