▸ Reveal simmering tensions

Use this move to set up a future conflict, either among NPCs or between NPCs and PCs.

"Tensions" don't necessarily mean that people dislike each other. Attraction, rivalry, poor communication, differences of opinion, misaligned expectations… these can all get tensions a-simmering.

As a hard move, either decide right now that tensions exist, and/or make it clear that the simmer is close to a boil.

"Her expression shifts to a forced smile. 'The… Ruined Tower, how… exciting.' And, like, her voice is cold. She is not happy, but she's trying not to show it. Do you think you notice?"

"Tegwen is just glaring daggers at Seren, y'know? And Seren's just blithely ignoring it, playing it off like she doesn't notice, and you think she's taking longer than she needs to, just to rile Tegwen up. She actually winks at you when she catches you watching. What do you do?"
