Embrace the fantastic and the mundane
Spend time establishing what life in Stonetop is like. Talk about the weird stuff: the quiet power of the Stone, the faded grandeur of the Maker-ruins, the gloomy menace of the Great Wood. But talk about mundane stuff, too! Crops. Weather. Livestock. Food and clothes. Chores, crafts, and pastimes.
Talk about the village's culture and social fabric. The game asserts that Stonetop is egalitarian, that everyone contributes and everyone shares. But what that looks like is up to your group. So are all sorts of details about village life. Kinship. Child care. Gender roles. Institutions and traditions. Holidays and celebrations. Myths and legends. Etc.
There's a balance to strike, of course. Focus on stuff your group cares about. But don't assume that mundane stuff is unimportant. Portray a rich and mysterious world, not just a mysterious one.
